A two day National Level Meet on Diversion Based Irrigation (DBI) was organized by Livolink Foundation from 27th to 28th February 2012 at Hotel Gajapati, Puri, Odisha. The meet was supported by Sir Dorabji Tata Trust and Allied Trusts, Mumbai. The two day event witnessed active participation of 52 representatives from the Government, NGOs, civil society organizations, NABARD and other notable persons working in the development sector.

The need for partners to share their experiences and failures formed an integral part of in this two day event. NGO partners discussed several issues associated in implementation of Diversion Based Irrigation schemes that helped in putting forth a definite plan for furthering future courses of action. It may be recalled that DBI is a national program supported by the Jamsetji Tata Trust (Sir Dorabji Tata Trust and the Allied Trusts) based at Mumbai. This program started in 2008-09 with a sanction of 1500 lakhs over a 3-year period. For the second phase beginning from 2011-12, Rs 3000 lakhs has been committed by the Trusts spread over three years.
