State Symposiums
The first ever State Level SRI Symposiums in India were supported by Sir Dorabji Tata Trust and Allied Trusts in the States of Assam, Bihar,Odisha and Jharkhand. As on date, apart from these four States, such symposiums have also been supported by SDTT in the states of Chhattisgarh, Maharastra, Uttarakhand, West Bengal and Manipur.
National Symposiums
The First National SRI Symposium in India was organized during November 17-18, 2006 at Hyderabad by the Directorate of Rice Research, Hyderabad and the WWF-ICRISAT Project.
The Second National SRI Symposium in the country was organized from October 3-5, 2007 at Agartala, Tripura. This event was hosted by the State Government of Tripura and co-sponsored by SDTT and WWF alongwith other sponsors that included DRR, DRD, CRRI, NABARD and ANGRAU. This symposium brought together people from a diverse set of institutions indicative of the support for SRI that was evident, then. More than 250 participants attended the event.
